It’s my last week in Košice. Luckily, I wasn’t able to buy all the gifts I wanted to (for myself and others). And luckily I didn’t buy the six bottles of Tokay and Russian champagne that I planned to. What on earth was I thinking?? (I thought I was traveling light!)

Wednesday

Wednesday night we went to the corner beer garden…me, Ivanna, Arya, Deniza, Mark and Dublin Group – Milo, Maria, and Zusana. We each had each an orgasmus from Ivanna; me and Ivanna each had two beer with Sprites. I was given a Slivoviče by our friendly bartender, which I forced Ivanna to drink; and I had a good-night drink of Becherova, good herbal stuff! We really had good fun and good conversation. Oh Christine was there too. She’s the one who started it actually, by asking me to go out. Then I invited everyone. (I was playing Angela!) By the way, more here about Czech and Slovak beers.

A Lot of Gossip!

I learned a lot of gossip. The guys here are worse, or just as bad as all women at Nordstrom. Arya hates his roommate Jason. Mark can’t stand Jae. Kristina and I don’t get involved, plus we are happy because we’re part time and temporary. She is with the Peace Corps till August, then will travel on, through Africa and China, with a 55-year old friend, who is now in the Peace Corps for her second time 25 years later. Another Helen type! Maybe we will meet again. She’s very cool. She has been two years in Slovakia, and was very helpful and called me up a few times to go out. How nice of her when I was new!

Last Week in Košice

On the week before my last one we went to the Smädný Mnich (Thirsty Monk) Pub on Alzbety Street. It was Gerald, me, Milo, Mark, and three other students. As it was smoky inside, I left at 21:10 to go call my “family.” Which is when we made plans to meet a few final times during my last week in Košice.

Apparently, we had a communication barrier and so we went to Dom Umenia both Thursday (mom missed her painting class) and Friday. Catching both the Czech Spiritual and Mozart concerts.
