What a great enjoyable lazy day! The one I’ve enjoyed the most so far. A leisurely Sunday in Slovakia. I slept in, not rising until 10:30- at which time I started the notorious wash cycle. At 13:15 it was still haltingly going. I was fed up and checked it. I had forgotten to close the door lock on the wash bin, and lo and behold it was stuck, as some items had fallen out. I had to maneuver it around, and pull everything out to see what was missing. Then I had to tug out the two lost items. Zum Glück (with luck) I was able to get them! Then we re-washed.

Leisurely Sunday in Slovakia

Meanwhile, I read, ate, drank coffee ☕️, and sat in the brief sun of my kitchen window (after it had seemingly snowed briefly earlier this morning). I wrote and watched an old Slovak movie – like Robin Hood – that Ivana had recommended. Watched a dubbed NASA space program from the 70’s; and a British animal show, “Squawk and Talk”, an old Czech traditional costumed wedding show. You can see a lot of local culture by watching TV. I saw some travel shows about Detroit (where I was born), Greenfield Village (in Dearborn where we lived), and Berlin.

After the wash cycle, I tried holding down the machine to detensify the spin cycle. I ended up moving it into the hall on the carpet and blocking the movement by rug. After that fiasco and vacuuming, I lunched. Later I headed up to the Internet Klub, as I did last night as well.

When I finished (emailing) at 20:00 I was pleasantly surprised to find the streets full of people. A large mass at St. Alzbety’s (St. Elizabeth’s) was just getting out, and people of all ages were slowly strolling home. Some were stopping for cake 🍰 and sandwiches 🥪 at the Bageteria, or for ice cream 🍨 at Aida. It was a nice feeling to be in such a leisurely atmosphere. Sunday in Slovakia and all is definitely well!
