Maison Barboulot Cabernet-Syrah 2019 from France.

This is very berry and strong wine. It’s fruity blackberry banana 🍌 cinnamon clove. It’s potent to drink and takes a frontseat to the food it’s paired with. I think next time I’d try it with a blue cheese or a smelly creamy Brie, ah yes that would pair well for me. Unless they’re both too strong. I’m gonna try it together and see. Or taste 👍🏼

I’d say it’s a Trader Joe’s value.

Here’s what AI has to say about it:

Maison Barboulot Cabernet-Syrah is a widely acclaimed, budget-friendly red blend (typically 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Syrah) from France’s Pays d’Oc region, commonly sold at Trader Joe’s for approximately $6–$7. It is noted for being smooth, fruity, and approachable, featuring ripe cherry, blackberry, and vanilla notes, making it a popular choice for daily drinking and pairing with meats.
Hailing from the Pays d’Oc region of Southern France, Maison Barboulot Cabernet-Syrah may just be one of the finest hidden gems in our entire wine section. Each sip is smooth and fruity, with ripe aromas of cherry and refined notes of vanilla on the palate, leading into a lovely, lingering finish. It’s the kind of wine you can turn to, again and again, to pair with a nice, seared steak during a romantic dinner, to cheers with a loved one as you nestle into the couch to watch a show, or even to just keep on hand for whenever the moment calls for an outstanding and approachable French red.
