Today we tried Hyshinu Ramen for the first time.

Hubby was craving ramen for a couple weeks now. I started looking up recipes online, and said, “I can make it for you, we have miso broth and soba noodles…” Then we asked ourselves, “Is there a ramen place near us?” We asked google and she said, “Yes Hyshinu Ramen.” And it’s right in our neighborhood!

Of course we’ve seen it and driven past it. (About four years ago, it was “Ramen Girl” or “Noodle Girl” or something for a minute, and  I had been there). And several months ago when sharing my enthusiasm about Poke Chop, someone had even recommended this poke place in Rancho San Diego. Noted. But no action taken. Until today.

Just looking at their website menu online had us salivating. And it was only 12:15 so we could even get in on their lunch specials which go from 11-3.

Ramen, three main types with multiple variations. Poke check  Bowls
Sushi  Rolls. Specialty Rolls. Sashimi.

All we wanted, and more. So over we went. In less than six minutes we were there.

This is what we ordered:
Crunchy specialty roll
Chicken Ramen with spicy miso broth- no egg and no corn
Seaweed salad- reminiscent of Gyu Kaku our absolute favorite place!
Lunch special- included two regular rolls (I got spicy salmon  and spicy hamachi) and a small salad
Extra wasabi
Iced green tea

And all of it was good.

I’d give it an eight out of ten. Because it wasn’t spectacular. Very good though. Will we go back? Yes, for sure. Next time we’re craving Ramen. Or Poke.

We decided it’s our new local spot. Besides Sahara.

But don’t take my word for it, go and check it out for yourself.

As small business owners ourselves, my husband and I, we understand the complexities of running a small business.
