Visit to the World Link Clinic in Shanghai
By Tuesday, I still had symptoms but felt better and confident enough to go to the World Link Western Clinic, which is close to us (where Lucille had already been with Leon for the fungus on his mouth). Sweaty silly palmed nervous me of course, I had “high” blood pressure by the time I got there. I get all worked up like I’m going to die and even gave myself nervous heart palpitations only to find out from the nice congenial woman doctor (two weeks fresh from Pennslyvania) that I have what is hitting everyone in Shanghai like crazy. An URTI Upper Respiratory Tract Infection, as I had already read about in my book, but wanted a proper diagnosis. (Just what I thought it was, but there are so many diseases here involving fever, I didn’t want to guess myself especially being so far from home.)
Anyway, I was okay and she gave hypocondriac me (I bought rather) a broncho inhaler and she told me to take Sudafed, as they can only treat the symptoms for this. Well I bought some choco-chip cookies and pineapple and grape juice and headed home! Feeling better already- and especially I must say, that Ocean Spray cranberry juice Lucille brought home yesterday helped a ton!!!
