The Klamm or Gorge
Today was our shopping day (like we needed it); then we waited one hour for dumplings that never came; and walked up to the castle. The view of Lake Bled was great!
After that we were scheduled to go see “The Klamm “ or Gorge. We walked there along a quiet country road and some paths, through meadows and typical quaint, clean, flowered Slovenian farmhouses where people and farmers smiled and said hello! We stopped on the way and ordered the elusive dumplings at a guest house where the lady made them special (albeit from the freezer for us!)
We continued on and after a while, made it to “The Gorge” attraction. It was beautiful and very different than I expected. The trail continued on for an hour past the entrance through a deep carved gorge – walking on wooden steps, and zig zag planks along and over the clear, rock bottomed river. It was really natural and unspoiled; we took a leisurely run through and zuruck.
Afterwards, of much debate about hitting hitting the same restaurant twice, we persuaded ourselves to go back to Okarina. The owner was glad to see us, making his personal recommendations. Michael had excellent “Clay Pot Chicken” red, dry, good! I had a veggie Cordon Bleu which was adequate; Michael had the avocado 🥑 this time.
