Marquette – Bergland

July 28, 1976

Today we mostly traveled after we left Jane and Jone’s house. I wrote lots of letters yesterday and today. When we got here, we went swimming in Lake Gogebic. (Lake Gogebic is the largest natural inland lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was sorta cool. Later we’ll have some-mores over my fire.

July 29, 1976

Today we stayed in Bergland and drove up to the Porcupine Mountain in the Pinto. We hiked almost three miles. When we came back, we went swimming. And me and Todd made a super fire.

July 30, 1976

Today I helped mom from getting lost. It was me who insisted she took 35 South. She wanted 35 North. Todd and me picked raspberries and we had ‘em on ice-cream after we went swimming. Todd and I went to see the buffalo 🦬 and stepped in Bombs. Yech!

July 31, 1976

Today at our campground we went swimming in a heated pool. Then we went to Town to eat dinner. We went to the Country Kitchen and got to play the juke-box. The food was good.
