We decided for our next stop to be, lo and behold, Printemps and Galleries Lafayette, which we stood in line for a taxi to whisk us over there. The crowded Blvd. Haussman was bustling with more shoppers than tourists, as we wound our way from block to block of the monstrous stores.

It was awesome and great, the avant-garde selection! I relocated and bought the pale blue Kipling bag and we found Helen’s apricot lipstick too. It was a fun wonderful atmosphere. The bedding and linen department (aside from the endless extensive lingerie floor) was out of bounds, especially the Kenzo awesome section! Brights and to-die-for dishes, glassware, and ceramics as far as the eye can see. We were good.

So, it was nearing time to eat again, as we caught a cab back to Hotel de Senelis, where we had https://paris-hotel-senlis.com the go-ahead to spend the next two nights, and the airport shuttle arranged. We sipped some of the red wine, put our feet up and relaxed.

Shortly afterward, we wandered once again, the cobblestone streets up by the Pantheon, to try and locate a nice restaurant for our last night. Scouring the student area, all around the Poly Technic, and between Clovis and Escoles Streets to no real avail. We were ready to go back to the hotel and start again, when we decided to take a swing around one last block.

Yes, after passing a cyber cafe good for tomorrow; we stumbled upon a nice, quaint, pleasant, intimate restaurant, seating about 26 people. It was by the daughter of the woman owner, assisted by the chef, who came out once from the back to meet the happy diners.

Once again, we shared a bottle of wine…this time we tried the red Bordeaux that everyone makes such a fuss about. Not bad. “Cahors” it was.

(Years later I’m learning that Interestingly the town this wine comes from is a World Heritage Site.)

We ordered a set price menu. Helen had an excellent mushroom soup which tasted strong of cumin and was the spiciest we have had. She ordered a pork medallions dish and a killer chocolate sauce brownie for after. Presentation was excellent. The menu was 87 FF, 116 FF. I had to have salmon again, as they were out of the dolphin I ordered. It had a nice basmati rice in sauce and I had a salad with fried goat cheese, then a pear 🍐 tart with ice cream, which paled in comparison to Helen’s chocolate!

After winding our way back to the hotel, Helen slept lightly getting up way early, while I awoke with a slight hangover, tired feeling.
