Little did I know that I’d spend the night dancing to Gus-Gus Techno Band. The morning came too soon, for mom and dad were heading back home today and I was so sad. But after a quick breakfast Michael and I met mom and dad, all ready, and we walked, cried, and rode the Ü-Bahn to the Flüghafen once again. Dad and Michael looked at the map on the way. I was so sad to see them go, and for our great time together to end. It was more difficult saying farewell than it had been when I left San Diego even, although maybe I just showed it more.

After they left and we had hugged through the glass, Michael and I chased through the airport for KLM and United to check on flights, including Helen’s flight on Wednesday. Then we went for a beer out on the terrace, to get my mind off that. The whole day and next however, were very melancholy and sad for me, even though Michael took me out to see Gus-Gus from Iceland, a techno-band, and we danced till 1:00 A.M. I did anyway… trying to dance away my sorrow, about mom and dad leaving Munich and heading home to San Diego.

Looking up Gus-Gus, now in 2023, I learn that this techno band from Iceland has spanned a long career and is still performing!
